Season 11 - Grift of The Magi (Funzo aka Ferby)

PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER (2012)

INITIAL IMPRESSION:

The soundtrack for this movie is killer.  The Smiths, David Bowie and a whole bunch of other shit I don't know but that fit the aura of the film perfectly.  The line about his Aunt, saying something about feeling "happy and sad at the same time" rings very true for me.  Once I heard it, it stuck in the back of my mind and lingered throughout and it somehow sets the tone for the whole movie.

"We accept the love we think we deserve"....who'd have thought Paul Rudd would ever utter those words.

SO MANY FEELS!

"Do you think if people knew, how crazy you really were no one would ever talk to you?"  ...yes, yes I do

The concluding monologue is fantastic.  I'm going to have to try and memorize it.  And possibly work it into a song.

I hate rating things, especially immediately after watching something.  I feel like so much of the rating is based on your mood and feelings at the time of watching it.  It's good to factor that into the equation, but not at the expense of the actual work itself.  Its hard to tell initially what emotions I already had welling inside of me before watching it and what emotions the film actually evoked.  

Since however, a review, is a review, I'll give it an 8.5/10 for the time being.  I don't want to set the bar too high, just in case I watch something soooo much better and I have nowhere to go because of giving this movie a near perfect rating.  though it was pretty spectacular.
