hmmm....top 10 favourite rappers?

LUPE FIASCO (for the deep themes and immense metaphors, and of course all the nerdy references)
BLU (his effortlessness...to me, he is one of the few rappers who seems to not even be trying and still destroying everything)
ANDRE 3000 (for his insane word-play, and weird personality....despite having a limited solo catalogue, its good enough to stand up to anyone)
KENDRICK LAMAR (he's a little bit of everything....anyone who goes from Backseat Freestyle to Sing About Me on the same album is on a whole nother level)
EMINEM (the GOAT....any rapper who hasn't molded atleast part of his style from something em did, isn't doing it right)
SHAD K (the most happy go lucky rapper on my list...reminds me of a less serious Lupe)
XV (the punch-line champion of the world, maybe the only rapper i've ever heard, where every line is a double meaning lol)
JAY ELECTRONICA (weird....beyond weird...weird beyonnnnd weird...makes you think....willy wonka references....michael jackson references.....exhibit c....just....everything....)
J. COLE (made the list based off of 3-4 incredible verses, some of the best verses i've heard in the 2000's.....dope producer....excluding a few garbage tracks he's made (who hasn't) he is very consistent....I would consider him the most lyrical mainstream rapper)
CHARLES HAMILTON (one of my favourite producers/beat selectors....the beats this dude uses, are beyond nuts.....he raps about god knows what most of the time....and has fallen off the face of the earth more than once....but that all adds to the mystique of his artistry....he may be my favourite ARTIST on this list....not necessarily the best rapper, but all the above earns him a huge place on this list)

honorable mentions:
KANYE WEST (old kanye west, Kanye was actually amazing at one point believe it or not)
TALIB KWELI/ MOS DEF (both have fallen off huge over the years imo...but both used to have a spot, talib especially)
BIGGIE (most of biggie has been overplayed for me, but some stuff like 10 crack commandments alone gives him a spot for all time)
NAS (nas might be a little too black for me or something....never really got into Nas too heavy....despite Stillmatic being one of my favourites....he's insanely dope, and legendary, but not one of my faves)
JAY-Z (read kanye)
INSPECTAH DECK (much like andre 3000, except that his solo work suffers huge)
DRAKE (can't bring myself to put him on my list...but he's prolly the best song-writer in mainstream hip-hop....maybe ever)
CHANCE THE RAPPER (my favourite new-comer....if he stays on his path, he'll be on my list at some point)
